There isn’t a cake scheduled for this week. So, I’m spending my time going through paperwork and preparing for upcoming cakes. I sketched out a couple cake ideas for a consultation I have this weekend and I think the bride will find something she likes.

I’ve got some phone calls to make and some emails to write. I also am working on getting some more pictures up on the site. I just have to have my photographer fix some background issues on a couple of them. But I will get them up soon. Stay tuned.

I’ve been working on plans for my competition cake for this year. Yes, I am going to the 2009 Grand National Cake Decorating Competition. I feel a lot more pressure this year to do really well. Last year was my first year so my expectations weren’t terribly high. I wanted to medal. That was as much as I had hoped for. So, after winning third place, the pressure is on to come back and do just as well or better.

The theme for this years competition is “Of Sea and Shore”. I haven’t been able to come up with a design until now. I think what I have is good though. We’ll see how it evolves over the next few months.
